40’ House

40’ House was created to provide all basic facilities and acommodation for a family of five people. The biggest challenge for this project was to make it fit in a space the size of a 40’ container (thirty square meters).
Only the master bedroom was considered as a private space, two twin-size beds next to the kitchenette work as seats during the day setting apart this space as the social area of the house.
The inner membrane is released from the structure in order to form the interior spaces of the house giving the sense of flow to the whole structure closely linked to the aesthetic language from the cladding. This façade system was designed in microperforated reflective composite aluminium and argon-filled windows which provides a high-performance building skin with a high insulation value.
